Storm’s Coming

Standing by the side of the road, you gaze across the barren field … your eyes filled with the reflected glow of the setting sun and the threatening storm clouds fast approaching. Looks like trouble is on its way for the little barn on the prairie. Quiet and still, she awaits yet another blast from Mother Nature. A gust of wind whips the dirt up from the field and your eyes start to burn. You’d better get back inside the car and hurry home. Storm’s coming.

This time of year on the East Coast, if you’ve got an old dog who hates thunder, your life is about to get rough.  July and August can be … noisy!!!  But we experience some crazy weather at other times of the year here, too.  Here’s a sky-image taken in winter, a few years ago.  Those of you who know me, know how much I love to monkey around with my shots, but believe me … other than the usual contrasty stuff (and noise reduction … it was an older camera and I was still a relative newby at the time) … not much has been done to that insane sky.

Original photographic images blended in Photoshop CS6. The sky was taken somewhere in Pennsylvania near the route 70 corridor with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikkor lens … and the barn’s image was captured with the Nikon D750 and the same lens near Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia.

………………..

As always, a click on the image whisks you over to my website where you can view it at a much better resolution and more socially acceptable watermark (which, of course, would NOT appear on any purchases!).

And also as always, comments welcome … got any scary storm stories for me??

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
