Another Incarnation

Well, we’ve undergone another change here.  🙄

I’ll be trying to figure out the way this new site works.  Hoping it’s just a period of adjustment with the new theme?  Have a note in to some folks who hopefully will be able to help.

Anyway.  Dere’s worse things, right?  Absolutely!!!

Funny that this happened … ’cause i was just formulating a new post in my little punkin’ head. Speaking of punkins / pumpkins, I hope everyone had a super Halloween and Thanksgiving??  But a new post, a real one, should probably wait a bit.

So bear with me …  off I go for now!!!!!

Welcome! I'm a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does, but I reconnected with my artsy side when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others where there"s always something new to discover and learn, as well as working completely freehand ... all of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. I love creating in a variety of subjects and in a variety of editing styles to create my final images ... something for everyone I hope! • No, honestly, not really!!!!! After The Great Hijacking of a couple of years back, I’m a real Nervous Nelly when it comes to this blog!! But I’ve got to find a theme I like. The one I had originally was awesome … and I eventually got used to the last one … but both are apparently gone with the wind. Sigh. Well, I’ll worry about it tomorrow. At Tara.

      • “lois-admin” Huh…a name change? Lilley-Admin next? I don’t know, I think she doth protest too much. Personally, I recommend the all Basset Hound theme at WordPress. “Ears” I think they call it.

        • you know what? I didn’t even notice the Lois-admin bit … oh good grief. I’m in contact with vault press at jet pack and they say they can restore the thing the way it was. but going into their “help” section, they’re using some terms that I have NO idea what they mean!!! OOOOO!!! Maybe switching to a new theme would be a better idea? Sigh. Thanks for the recommendation … I’ll see if I can find it. I do like yours!!!

        • Oh this is so complicated!!! Is there a video camera around here watching me pull my hair out???? I’m going to ask a huge favor. I’ve done several searches for your theme, but it didn’t come up. Could you … pretty please … go into your dashboard, where it says “appearance” click there … and the first theme that pops up will be the name of your theme?? Maybe there’s a wee tee tiny difference … in capital letters or something … that will help. Thank you … I will continue to slog through the ridiculous directions from JetPack … to see if I can make heads or tails out of what they’re saying. Sigh ..

          • No probs…my theme is called “Bromley.” I now WP can be frustrating and when one finally starts to get the hang of its eccentricities they announce a new , improved version that is again incomprehensible. Good luck!

            • you’re right. I’m back and forth with JetPack and Vaultpress via email and have been for a couple of days. I won’t bore you with the details, but this is … a challenge!! Thanks for your support and good wishes!! I need them!!!!

  1. Hi Lois !! I hope that the season finds you well, and thought, if I can be of any help to you with your new theme – the same theme that I use – I’d be happy to contribute tips as a friend. You can look at my site, if you’d like, and feel free to contact me with any questions or interests. Have a nice week. 🙂

    • Hey Phil … a very late thank you!!! I think your post flew in while I was involved with the holidays … and plus I just put this whole WP mess on the back burner. I got back into it again this afternoon, but again, the answers I’m getting from JetPack lead me to just another brick wall. So, here we go again. Once I’ve got this initial issue resolved, I will definitely take you up on your offer of advice about a new theme. At this point, I’m terrified of doing ANYthing … don’t want to set off any more problems than I’m already working to resolve!!! Thank you again!!! Btw … hope your Holidays were awesome … and wishing you and yours a fabulous 2022!!!!!

      • Yes, very nice Holidays ~ thank you, Lois. Let me know when a time is convenient, and I’m happy to talk shop/WP. Wishing you a great 2022, too. 🙂

        • Oh Phil thank you. I’m pretty disappointed in JetPack … they’re really letting me down, but I’m hanging in there with them for the time being. I may have actually made some progress tonight … I think I may have finally connected my blog to WordPress.com … which is apparently a big deal??? We shall see.

  2. Hey there Lois. I feel ya pain with this site and the blocks and all that. I signed up earlier in the year and it took a while before I finally felt comfortable and getting around better, more timely. It did take a lot of hours in the beginning and then… I took a break for a few months. lol 🙂 Now I’m kinda back though and got around fine. Posting much easier this time around. Hang in there.

    • Hi Angie!! Thanks so much. I’ve had a blog for a long time … and it has had a bit of a rocky history including being hacked and even hijacked by some people who replaced my content with Chinese stuff!!! What a shock that was. We think it had to do with an ordinary plug in that I added … from the WordPress options!!! I am too timid to have added something from anywhere else. Anyway, got it all straightened out and was mostly back up to date and running well (though I didn’t like the new theme) … when for reasons not under my control ( there was a stinker of an issue with something … a server? ) the whole blog had to be re done. I’ve been back and forth with JetPack (Do you use them? They have always been extremely helpful in the past) … but their suggestions just send me right back into a brick wall. I gave up on the thing over the holidays … just too much frustration … and other stuff to take care of. Just tried again, but once again, their advice … “look for this blue button” … is hopeless. I won’t give up … but I may die of old age and be 6 feet under before it’s working right again. I was thinking of doing a post holiday blog … even if the whole site looks miserable. We’ll see.

So glad you got YOURS working … good girl!!!!! I think I see a link to you … I want to hop over and see what you’ve been up to!!!!!!

      • Thank you so much Lois! I have more of a time management issue, too much I want to do and not enough time in a day to do it all so I sometimes and jumping all over but don’t know if I’m really getting stuff done. Because my list still has the same stuff on it. LOL 🙂 Thanks for the lovely visit. 🙂

        • Oh Angie, time management!! Yes!!! And sounds like you do to-do lists too? I don’t know what I’d do without mine. I actually have notebooks, big spiral notebooks … they go years and years back. They’re filled with everyday notes and to-do lists. They’ve come in handy more times than I can count!! My notebooks are my brains!!

  3. I love working on my photography too. Gives me a creative outlet. I don’t know that my blog or my photography has a theme. However most of my portfolio comes from my travels and therefore my blog is pretty much travel related. But honestly I don’t feel like I have a niche, just whatever has captured my interest at the moement.

    • Rebecca, I agree … our creative outlets, no matter what they are, keep us grounded and flying high both at the same time, don’t they!!! And you know, you’ve made a very good point. Since my images don’t follow any kind of pattern, in either subject matter or creative finish, why on earth should the blog?? Makes sense to me!!!!! Thanks much for dropping by!!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
