Is This Heaven

A tall and mighty sunflower, bursting with golden blooms, shoots straight and strong … right up to heaven. I don’t know what more inspiring and joyful way to spend the afternoon than standing in a field of these beauties.

John Kinsella: Is this heaven?
Ray Kinsella: It’s — it’s Iowa.
John: I could have sworn it was heaven.
Ray: Is there a heaven?
John: Oh, yeah. It’s the place where dreams come true.
Ray: Maybe this is heaven.

The above quote is from one of my all time favorite movies, “Field Of Dreams.” And though in the movie the fields are corn, not sunflowers, the feeling is the same. The magic is the same. I didn’t hear The Voice the day I went to the sunflower fields at Burnside Farms in Haymarket, Virginia … not with my ears … but I did hear it with my heart.  I love sunflowers!!!  That gorgeous sunny day, standing there amid zillions of golden sunflowers, is one I’ll never forget!
